Therapy in London and Brighton

I've been practicing Sports Massage since 2005. This type of massage uses a mixture of techniques to resolve soft tissue problems. This can include stretching, specific muscle release, and both superficial and deeper muscle work using variable  pressure.

Medical and Electro Acupuncture can be used in a few ways either on its own, or combined with massage. It enables us to reach some deeper muscles, or resolve issues without having to apply heavy pressure.

Fire Cupping is another tool that works well pulling tension out of deeper and more complex areas that massage on it's own can't reach. A strong and effective method that's particularly useful for people who are used to deep treatments, and enjoy the sensation of deep work.

Any of the above can be applied in combination over the course of a treatment according to client need.

Fire Cupping is not permitted at Silk, Brighton. Instead we use vacuum cupping, a fire free version with plastic cups.

Fire Cupping only available in Laura Ryan Therapies, London.

All treatment intensities will rely on client comfort and are monitored with communication from both parties.

Additional information for Silk Clients

- Silk is a LGBTQ+ specialist well being space. Whilst everyone is welcome to visit and
receive treatment we ask that all attendees are respectful of our space and the people you
might meet during your visit. Be respectful of peoples privacy, do not touch anyone
without consent and be mindful that accessing wellbeing support can be a private thing
so don’t ask questions which are personal or invasive. Allow people space to be in
reception.
- Silk’s reception is a shared space between all of us with sometimes multiple treatments
going on in the building at once. Please keep noise to a minimum, mute phones and use
earphones. You are welcome to help yourself to water from the tap and we have a
selection of books and fidget toys which you are free to use.
- Accessibility is a big part of Silk and we want to make your experience as accessible as
possible. We ask that all practitioners booking processes include space for information
around mental health, physical health, neurodivergence and accessibility needs but if
there’s something you need us to be aware of, please let us know.
- When you arrive at Silk, using the keypad at the door, press 1 and then the bell. You will
be buzzed into reception. Please wait in reception for your practitioner. Please do not
enter rooms without them.
- If you require access to the ramp to enter Silk, please let your practitioner know. When
you arrive, you will see there is a lower down doorbell for wheelchair users to use - this
lets us know you are here and we can get the ramp out for you and open up the double
doors.
- Silk is on a residential street. Please be mindful when you are coming and going -
particularly in the evenings - of keeping noise levels low and respectful so that our
neighbours aren’t disturbed.
